GEAR

The session was recorded using a Neumann TLM 102, a Sennheiser MD 421, and an AKG C414.

The preamp stage consisted of a pair of Chandler GERM 500 Mk II units alongside a Millennia HV-35. For tonal shaping, a Shadow Hills Dual Vandergraph Compressor was applied to the C414 signal, set to approximately –1 dB of gain reduction to add subtle coloration and control.

All signals were routed through an Apogee Ensemble Mk II interface.

Rhythms

The Surdo 2 comes with an extensive variation of rhythms and grooves, in addition to modern rhythmic cells that allow more versatility use.
